Backyard Flowerbeds

With all this vegetable gardening and watching my mother-in-law's backyard get landscaped. I decided it was time to do ours. We have had it marked off for a couple of years, so all I needed to do was put plants in it. We need to still put in mulch but here's what I have done.

Week 7

Update: I have decided to pull up my cucumber because they were just looking horrible. I also pulled up my jalapenos because they just weren't doing well this year. So in there place, I decided to plant some corn from kernels. Well after only being in the ground for 5 days or so; they have begun to sprout! Here it is. I have five of these.

Week 5

I'm not really sure whats going on with some of my plants. Since last weekend, my cucumbers have begun to look horrible and my pole beans haven't been looking good either! I'm still in the process of trying to figure out what's going on with them and how to remediate the problems. I'll keep you posted.

Week 4

Here I am in week 4 of gardening. Over the last two weeks, I have planted more pole beans from seeds, planted oregano and bought a lime tree. My pole beans have begun to sprout, I noticed this morning. I'm very excited to see how they do. I decided to pull out my cauliflower and broussels sprouts because they are winter vegetables. Also, cross-stripped cabbage moths had invaded my cauliflower. Here are some updated photos.
My new lime tree!
My tomato is growing larger and larger. This plant also has another tomato beginning to form!
